Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 (3 1/2 oz.) pkg. instant chocolate pudding
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. broken nuts (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Mix flour with baking soda.
Combine butter, the sugars, pudding mix and vanilla in a large bowl.
Beat until smooth and creamed.
Beat in eggs.
Gradually add flour mixture, then stir in chips and nuts (batter will be stiff).
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes (may not appear to be done).
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
