"Candy Bar" Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. margarine
    3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. evaporated milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Cream margarine.
    Gradually add powdered sugar and cream well. Add vanilla, milk and salt.
    Mix well.
    Blend in flour.
    If necessary, chill for easier handling.
    Roll out dough, half at a time on surface sprinkled with powdered sugar to a 12 x 8-inch rectangle.
    Trim sides with fluted pizza cutter.
    Cut in 3 x 1 1/2-inch rectangles and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 12 to 16 minutes until lightly browned.
    Cool.
    Spread 1 teaspoon filling on each.
    Top with 1/2 teaspoon icing.
    Decorate with pecan half, if desired.
