Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. squash, sliced
    2 c. onions, sliced
    4 bell peppers, sliced
    2 c. vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Sprinkle salt over squash, onions and peppers; let set 1 hour. Cover with ice; drain.
    Mix vinegar, sugar, celery seed, mustard seed and turmeric.
    Bring to a full boil.
    Pour over squash.
    Put back on stove; bring to a full boil.
    Pack in jars.
