Raisin And Applesauce Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 or 2 1/2 c. raisins (seeded or seedless)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice (optional)
    3 heaping Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
    2 or 3 Tbsp. cold water
    1 c. applesauce
    1 tsp. lemon or vanilla extract
    2 unbaked shallow pie crusts
    strips of pastry (for top)
    sugar and butter to dot on top
Preparation
    Cook raisins, sugar, 1 cup water, salt, butter and lemon juice for 5 minutes.
    Dissolve cornstarch in 2 or 3 tablespoons cold water; add to raisin mixture along with applesauce.
    Cook 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat and add extract.
    Pour into 2 unbaked pie crusts.
    Top with strips of pastry and dot with sugar and butter.
    Bake 25 minutes in hot oven (400\u00b0 to 450\u00b0).
