Savory Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

3 lb. lean ground beef
2 large onions, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
1 tsp. bottled minced garlic
1 (26 oz.) jar marinara sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans diced tomatoes with Italian herbs
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1 tsp. dried basil
2 cans mushrooms (stems and pieces), drained
Preparation

Cook first 4 ingredients in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Stir until crumbled and no longer pink. Drain mixture. Return to Dutch oven. Stir in marinara sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried Italian seasoning, dried basil and mushrooms. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. This makes a large pot of sauce. It freezes well.
