Betty'S Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 8 lb. sliced medium cucumbers, unpeeled
    6 medium white onions, sliced
    3 cloves garlic
    1/3 c. coarse salt
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Slice unpeeled, washed cucumbers thinly.
    Mix together with sliced onions, garlic cloves and the coarse salt.
    Cover with cracked ice.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Cover and let stand at least 3 hours at room temperature or as long as 2 days refrigerated. Drain thoroughly.
