Blackberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. blackberries
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. cloves (optional)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Drain blackberries; save juice.
    Sift all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
    Add berries and vanilla.
    Place in greased and floured long cake pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
