Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    2/3 c. hot water
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    In a 2-quart pan, combine sugar, syrup and water plus salt. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil; cook to hard ball stage.
    Immediately beat egg whites stiff.
    Pour in hot syrup, a very small amount at a time, slowly, at highest speed of electric mixer.
    Keep bowl moving around until soft peaks form, then add nuts.
