Lemon Sauce For Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
    1/3 c. lemon juice
    2 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Combine sugar, margarine, lemon rind and lemon juice in double boiler.
    Bring
    water
    to a boil.
    Turn heat to low and cook until
    margarine melts and sugar dissolves.
    Stir often. Stir in eggs
    and
    cook, stirring constantly, for 5 to 7 minutes,
    or until sauce thickens.
    Remove from heat.
    Serve warm over gingerbread or pound cake.\tYields 1 2/3 cups.
