Edna'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    6 eggs
Preparation
    Cream shortening with sugar.
    Add milk and dry ingredients a little at a time.
    Add flavoring.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well between each.
    Line bottom of angel food pan with wax paper and not sides and stem.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Do not open oven door for 1 hour.
    If cake doesn't spring back when touched, cook few minutes more.
    Turn out on rack to cool.
