Can'T Fail Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. heavy cream
    1 c. milk
    1 c. butter
    4 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine sugars, corn syrup, cream, milk and butter.
    Cook slowly, stirring constantly to 248\u00b0 (or when small quantity into cold water forms firm balls).
    Remove from heat; add vanilla extract.
    Pour onto greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Cool.
    When firm, turn out on board and cut into squares.
    Wrap squares in wax paper.
