Mountain Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter or oleo
    1/2 c. Crisco
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    3 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. lemon
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and Crisco; add eggs, one at a time.
    Add flour and milk alternately, adding baking powder with the last of the flour.
    Add flavoring.
    Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
    Do not preheat oven.
    Place in cold oven; turn oven on at 350\u00b0.
    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Do not open oven even once. Makes a large cake that keeps well and also is good frozen.
