Punch Bowl Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 qt. milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. whipping cream, whipped
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. (8 oz.) rum, brandy or whiskey, if desired
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Blend together eggs, milk, sugar and salt.
    Fold in whipped cream and vanilla.
    Pour into bowl or pitcher.
    Cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, several hours or overnight. Stir in liquor just before serving.
    Sprinkle each serving with nutmeg, if desired.
