Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices side bacon, cut in small pieces
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    2 c. diced raw potatoes
    1 c. boiling water
    3 c. warm milk
    1 (14 oz.) can whole kernel corn
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp in a deep heavy saucepan.
    Remove bacon bits and drain on paper toweling.
    Pour off fat.
    Measure 2 tablespoons and return to saucepan.
    Add onions and cook until transparent, but not brown.
    Add raw potatoes and water.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat, cover and cook 8 to 10 minutes or until tender.
    Add remaining ingredients and heat just to boiling. Season to taste.
    Yields 6 cups.
