Slushy Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. gelatin (flavor according to desired color)
    2 c. sugar
    6 c. water
    2 (46 oz.) cans pineapple juice
    4 large bottles ginger ale (cold)
Preparation
    Heat 3 cups water to boil.
    Dissolve gelatin and sugar.
    Add 3 cups cold water.
    Add juice.
    Stir.
    Freeze in 1/2 gallon cartons (takes at least 3).
    Set frozen mixture out at room temperature at least an hour before serving time.
    Mash some of frozen mixture with spoon or potato masher.
    Add ginger ale.
    Serves 50.
