Heavenly Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    6 egg yolks
    1 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped dates
    6 egg whites
Preparation
    Cream sugar and egg yolks well.
    Mix in flour, salt, baking powder, nuts and dates.
    Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into cake mixture.
    Bake in 8 x 11-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done.
    When nearly cold, cut into squares; sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
