Hard Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. white Karo syrup
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. pure oil flavoring
    food coloring
Preparation
    Cook first 3 ingredients until 300\u00b0.
    Stir occasionally over medium heat.
    Take off burner.
    Add pure oil flavoring and food coloring.
    Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.
    When cool enough, about 5 minutes, cut into 1/2-inch strips and pieces with scissors.
    Turn onto freezer paper covered with granulated or powdered sugar.
