Gobblin' Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. margarine
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 Tbsp. grated orange peel
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    5 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Add sugars, salt and margarine.
    Cool.
    Sprinkle yeast into warm water and stir until dissolved.
    Add lukewarm milk mixture, beaten eggs, orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Add 3 cups of sifted flour.
    Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).
    Place in greased bowl and brush with soft shortening.
    Cover and rise in warm place until doubled (about 1 1/2 hours).
    Punch down and roll out on floured board to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut with doughnut cutter.
    Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled (30 minutes).
    Drop a few at a time in hot fat (365\u00b0).
    Cook 2 to 3 minutes, turning once.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Sugar or glaze while warm.
