Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
3 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together until light and fluffy.
Stir in buttermilk.
Sift together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
Drop from tablespoon 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake in hot oven (400\u00b0) about 8 minutes.
Cool slightly; remove from pan.
Makes 5 dozen.
