Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. cucumbers, sliced but not peeled
    1/4 c. salt
    7 medium onions, sliced thin
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    20 whole cloves
    1 can pimientos, chopped
Preparation
    Sprinkle cucumbers with salt.
    Let stand 3 hours.
    Do not pour off brine.
    Mix all together onions, sugar, mustard seed, celery seed, turmeric, cloves and pimientos.
    Cover with vinegar.
    Let cook about 5 minutes after it comes to a boil.
