Tomato Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (9-inch) deep-dish pie shell
5 large tomatoes, peeled and thickly sliced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
3 tsp. dried basil
garlic powder to taste
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1 1/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 large onion, chopped (optional)
herb dressing mix (optional)
Preparation

Bake pie shell at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Layer tomatoes in pie shell, sprinkling each layer with salt, pepper, basil and garlic powder which have been combined. Combine mayonnaise and cheese; spread over tomatoes. May add chopped onion and top with herb dressing mix. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
