Mother'S Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. white raisins
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 c. water (left from cooking raisins)
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cook white raisins in 1 1/2 cups water.
Cook until 1/2 cup water is left.
Sift flour.
Add soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Cream together sugar and shortening.
Add egg.
Add 1/4 cup water (left from cooking raisins) and nuts.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Spread on greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
Spread powdered sugar icing on cookies while still warm.
Cut into squares when cool.
