Granny Hutchinson'S Cucumber Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 lb. cucumbers
    2 qt. white vinegar
    3 oz. alum
    2 qt. water
    6 lb. sugar
    3 Tbsp. pickling spice
    2 Tbsp. turmeric
    2 c. lime
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in lime 24 hours.
    Soak overnight in alum; rinse and soak 5 or 6 hours in vinegar and sugar mixture.
    Cook until clear and put in jars.
