Spring Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large bunch romaine lettuce
    1 small bunch spring onions
    2 stalks celery
    1 c. sliced water chestnuts
    1 pkg. frozen English peas
    1 c. mayonnaise
    3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Pinch lettuce and line 9 x 13 x 2-inch glass dish.
    Cut onions and tops and layer over lettuce.
    Add 1/2 cup chopped celery, then chestnuts.
    Sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups frozen uncooked peas.
    Mix sugar, mayonnaise and pour over top of all ingredients.
    Cover and let stand in refrigerator at least 4 hours.
    May be made overnight.
