Piccalilli(My Great-Grandmother'S Recipe, Chloe Hill) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. green tomatoes, sliced (14 lb.)
    6 onions, sliced
    2 green peppers, sliced
    2 lb. brown or white sugar
    2 qt. cider vinegar
    1 Tbsp. cloves, ground
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. allspice or 3/4 Tbsp.
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix green tomatoes and onions in nonmetal container; cover with 1 cup salt and let set overnight.
    Drain in morning.
    Add other ingredients and cook until done.
    Put in hot clean jars and seal tightly.
    No processing needed.
