New Year'S Eve Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped
    4 Tbsp. butter
    4 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese
    30 oz. canned black-eyed peas with jalapeno peppers
    tortilla chips
Preparation
    In large frying pan or saucepan, saute onion in butter until soft.
    Add cheese and black-eyed peas, stirring until cheese is melted and mixture is thoroughly heated.
    Serve in chafing dish with chips.
    May be prepared ahead.
    Serves 10.
