Devil'S Food Drop Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 egg
    1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Let shortening melt in hot water before adding other ingredients.
    Don't mix until last item has been added.
    Then mix well.
    If Spry or Crisco is used, add 1/4 teaspoon salt.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Makes about 1 1/2 dozen cakes.
