Freezing Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1 large head cabbage, shredded
    1 Tbsp. salt
    celery seed and/or anise to taste
Preparation
    Mix vinegar and sugar together; bring to a boil.
    Add 1 tablespoon of salt.
    Add celery seed or anise or both to taste. Let cool.
    Pour over cabbage.
    Let stand several hours before freezing.
