Stuffed Green Peppers - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 green peppers
1 c. finely chopped onions
2 Tbsp. cooking oil
1 lb. ground chuck or round
1 lb. tomatoes (canned)
1 1/2 c. water
3/4 c. raw long grain rice
1 heaping Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
fine, dry bread crumbs
Preparation

Saute onions in oil, add ground meat and brown well.
Add tomatoes, water, rice, chili powder, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce.
Cover and simmer 30 to 40 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
Remove tops and seeds from the peppers and parboil for 5 minutes; drain.
Stuff the peppers with the onion/meat mixture.
Stand peppers upright in greased baking dish, add small amount of water.
Top each pepper with bread crumbs, if desired.
Cover and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
Serves 8.
