Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/3 c. water
    1 1/2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix the first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil using a heavy kettle.
    Cook until
    the mixture begins to change color.
    Add peanuts immediately.
    Continue to cook until light amber (Peanut Brittle color).
    Peanuts will clump together so keep stirring apart.
    Remove from heat immediately and add butter, soda and salt.
    Stir in rapidly.
    Spread on a well-buttered cookie sheet, pushing the peanuts down into the candy and also spreading it to the thinness you desire.
    Cool and break up.
