Buttercream Icing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
5 c. sifted confectioners sugar
3 Tbsp. milk
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening with mixer.
Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed.
Scrape bottom and sides of bowl often.
When all the sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.
Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy.
Frosts 3 layers or 9 x 12-inch cake.
