Vegetable Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium onions, chopped
    12 green bell peppers, chopped
    12 ripe apples, chopped
    1/2 c. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    4 c. vinegar
    4 c. cabbage, chopped
    6 red bell pepper, chopped
    5 c. sugar
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. turmeric
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Add salt to vegetable mixture and mix well.
    Let stand for 4 hours; drain well.
    Add sugar, vinegar, water and spices to vegetables.
    Boil for 3 minutes.
    Pack in jars and seal.
