Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease 12-cup muffin pan with shortening, or use paper muffin cup liners.
    Put shortening and sugar in large mixing bowl.
    Cream until soft and fluffy.
    Break egg into bowl; beat well with spoon.
    Stir flour and baking powder; add to mixture and stir.
    Add milk and vanilla; beat until batter is smooth.
    Pour into muffin pan, filling each halfway. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool for 5 minutes.
    Remove from pan to finish cooling.
    Makes 12.
