Sugary Apple Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. chopped apples
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking powder; add salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Next, cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Stir in beaten egg, then flour, alternating with milk.
    Fold in apples.
    Fill greased muffin tins almost full.
    Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (mix together).
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Makes 20 (2 1/2-inch) muffins.
