Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. self rising cornmeal
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 egg beaten
3/4 c. sweet milk
1 medium onion (chopped)

Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients; add milk egg and onion.
Stir to moisten.
Drop a small tsp. of batter for each puppy into a hot deep fat fryer.
Cook till golden brown.
