English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 lb. butter
    1/2 c. dark Karo
    1/4 lb. blanched almonds
    1/2 tsp. salt (if nuts aren't salty)
    milk chocolate
Preparation
    Melt butter. Add Karo. Add sugar gradually (don't get on side of pan). Add salt and nuts.
    Turn on high and stir constantly until it
    makes a good crackle in water.
    Pour out on 2 ungreased cookie sheets.
    Put chocolate on top and let melt, then spread.
