Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 to 1/2 stick butter or margarine
    1 large red onion, thinly sliced
    1 small head red cabbage, shredded
    1/4 c. each: red wine vinegar and sugar
    1 tsp. caraway seed
    3/4 tsp. salt
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook onion in butter or margarine until softened.
    Add cabbage and vinegar.
    Cook gently, covered, until cabbage is crisp-tender, about 12 minutes.
    Add sugar, caraway seed, salt and pepper.
    Cook gently 5 minutes longer, stirring often to prevent burning.
