Vegetable Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. vegetables
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. garlic salt
    1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. butter
    1/3 c. flour
    small sour cream
    1/4 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    1 to 2 c. bread crumbs
    pinch of nutmeg and thyme
Preparation
    Cook vegetables with 1 teaspoon salt, garlic salt and 2 tablespoons butter in 1/2 cup water for 15 minutes.
    Drain; reserve liquid.
    Place vegetables in buttered casserole.
    Melt 1/4 cup butter.
    Stir in flour to make smooth paste.
    Add reserved vegetable liquid and sour cream to make 2 cups liquid.
    Cook slowly until thick.
    Add remaining salt, Cheddar cheese, nutmeg and thyme.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Mix crumbs with remaining butter and sprinkle over top.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0. Serves 6.
