Ingredients

1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. butter
1 1/4 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Make sauce by combining first 3 ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Cream 2 tablespoons butter and sugar.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture alternately with milk.
Add chopped nuts. Spread batter into greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
Carefully pour sauce over batter.
Arrange pecan halves on top of batter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
