"Pug'S" Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. finely chopped cabbage
    6 medium onions, chopped
    6 green peppers, chopped
    6 red peppers, chopped
    1 qt. peeled, chopped green tomatoes
    1/4 c. pickling salt
    6 c. vinegar (5% acidity)
    2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
    1 1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
Preparation
    Combine vegetables and salt; stir well.
    Cover and let stand 8 to 10 hours or overnight.
    Drain well.
