Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head red cabbage (about 1 1/2 lbs) or 5 cups shredded cabbage
    4 slices diced bacon
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    2 T. flour
    1/4 cup vinegar
    1/2 cup water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 small onion sliced
Preparation
    Heat one inch of water in skillet with 1 tsp. salt and 2 T. vinegar to boiling. Add cabbage. Cover and heat to boiling; cook 15 to 20 minutes or until tender-crisp. Drain. Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and save 1 T. bacon drippings in skillet. Stir brown sugar and flour into bacon drippings. Add water, vinegar, salt, pepper, and onion. Cook, stirring frequently, about five minutes or until mixture thickens. Add bacon and cabbage to the sauce mixture. Stir together gently and heat through.
