Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 oz. red food coloring
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, cocoa and salt together and mix buttermilk with food coloring. Add dry ingredients alternately with liquid ingredients to creamed mixture. Beat well. Dissolve baking soda in vinegar and fold into batter. Grease and flour two 9-inch layer cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from the pans; cool and spread with Vanilla Filling and Frosting.
