Ingredients

garlic (1 clove per pt.)
hot pepper (1 pod per pt.)
3 to 4 lb. okra (small pods)
1/2 c. salt
dill seed (1 tsp. per pt.)
1 qt. vinegar
1 c. water
Preparation

Place garlic and hot pepper in bottom of clean jars. Leave part of stem on okra. Pack washed and drained okra tightly in jars, then add dill seed. Bring vinegar, water and salt to boiling; simmer 5 minutes. Pour over okra. Seal jars. Process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Makes enough pickling solution for 4 pints.
