Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. corn meal
    1/4 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    milk (about 1 c.)
Preparation
    Combine all dry ingredients (corn meal, sugar, baking powder, flour and salt).
    Add shortening, egg and enough milk to make a thin batter. Beat until smooth.
    Pour into greased 8-inch square pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes in a hot 425\u00b0 oven.
