Karithopeta(Walnut Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. grated orange peel
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. walnuts, chopped
    whipped cream
    orange wedges
Preparation
    Cream butter in large mixing bowl.
    Gradually add sugar; continue beating until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
    Mix together milk and grated orange peel. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and peel, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Add nuts; mix well.
    Pour batter into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
    While hot, cut into diamond shapes and pour syrup over top.
    Cool 1 hour.
    Garnish with whipped cream and orange wedges.
    Serves 16.
