Scalded Corn Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. plain corn meal
    1 level tsp. salt
    1 pt. boiling water
Preparation
    Add salt to boiling water.
    Gradually mix in meal.
    Set in refrigerator for about 20 minutes (or until chilled and firm).
    In 1 inch of shortening in a skillet fry at 350\u00b0 for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
    Makes 18 corn cakes.
