Spanish Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. dried garbanzo beans
    3/4 lb. lean baked ham, cut in 1-inch chunks
    8 oz. lean bacon or salt pork
    2 chorizo (Spanish sausage), thinly sliced
    2 qt. water
    2 large yellow onions, chopped
    6 medium white potatoes, quartered
    pinch of saffron
    1/2 tsp. paprika
Preparation
    Rinse and clean beans. Soak beans overnight or at least 8 hours in cold water with the salt.
    Drain and add water.
    Fry bacon and salt pork with onions; drain. Add to beans along with potatoes, paprika and saffron.
    Add ham. Cook until potatoes are done.
    Add sausage.
    Keep warm and serve with crusty Cuban bread or Cuban sandwiches.
