Spicy Walnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. walnut halves
Preparation
    Heat walnut halves in moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 5 minutes, stirring once.
    Butter sides of heavy 2-quart saucepan.
    In saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon and salt.
    Heat and stir until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to boiling.
    Cook, without stirring, to soft ball stage (236\u00b0).
    Remove from heat.
    Beat, by hand, 1 minute or until mixture just begins to get creamy.
    Add 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and the warm walnuts.
    Stir gently until nuts are well coated and mixture becomes creamy.
