Ingredients

3 qt. ripe figs
6 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. broken cinnamon sticks
2 Tbsp. whole cloves
Preparation

Cover figs with 2 quarts boiling water.
Let stand 5 minutes and drain.
Mix 1 cup water with vinegar and sugar in a large saucepan.
Add spices in bag.
Bring to boil and add figs.
Boil 10 minutes.
Let stand until next day.
