Ham And Bean Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. Great Northern beans
1 1/2 qt. water
bone from cooked ham with some meat on it and juice
1 onion, diced
4 ribs celery, diced
1 bay leaf
3 carrots, diced
3 potatoes, diced
3/4 c. seminola, if desired
Preparation

Rinse beans.
Pick out faulty beans and stones.
Mix water with some juice from cooked ham to equal 1 1/2 quarts.
Add to pot.
Add soup bone to pot.
Add onion, celery, carrots and bay leaf.
When beans begin to soften, add potatoes.
Add seminola cooked in boiling water, if desired.
Simmer 20 to 30 minutes or until beans are slightly mushy.
